We're no Lewis and Clarke but we had trepidations on our mini road trip to Oregon. We didn't discover new trails or make history, but it certainly was a new adventure for our family.
Siena is very very picky about where she sleeps. She doesn't sleep in the car or stroller. This has kept us from taking any long trips together as a family. We finally decided to bite the bullet this year and planned a 5 quick trip to Corvallis, Oregon to visit Siena's grandparents.
We were surprised to find that both our kiddos did great during the trip. We took two scenic breaks during the ride down, one of them being an impromptu egg hunt for Siena with Buddha doing his best to assist.
Once we arrived at the grandparent's beautiful, botanical home, we were delighted to find more Easter themed gifts for Siena. She bonded with Mamaw and G-Pa while my husband and I went to the local dog park with Buddha. Boy, were we shocked!
It was a huge, grass covered field with rolling hills and surrounded by trees. Unlike Seattle dog parks, there was no sour stink and no crowd. There was also more appreciation rather than trepidation when the other dog owners saw Buddha. As usual, he was a stellar guy who was mostly interested in his ball although he could usually be swayed into a few moments of play with some of the more playful new friends.
