This is a sponsored post writing by me on behalf of Castor & Pollux. As always, all opinions are my own.
Our family is organic friendly, and that means Buddha is an #OrganicPet. I've posted previously about his food and how we favored raw meals as a healthy alternative to processed kibble. It is however, a tedious, messy, and stinky process to prep every week. Just like random pizza delivery nights for the humans on a lazy evening, I dreamed about serving up the dogs a quick meal, too. Unfortunately, the quick meals would upset Buddha's stomach, give him goopy eyes, skin rashes, and excess shedding. Until - dun dun DUN! – We discovered Organix by Castor & Pollux Natural PetWorks.
Sure, this is a sponsored post, but it's also an honest post. We've been offered various sponsorships on other well known dog foods but declined to post anything about them when the product didn't work for us. Plus, Organix is a brand that I had already purchased on my own while buying my own groceries at Whole Foods.
Many of you have asked for recommendations on a high quality kibble that isn't as intimidating as raw food (which indeed needs lot of research, weighing, and measuring to ensure your dog gets the proper nutrition). I am so happy to have found something that actually works for us, and hopefully works for you.
First off, Organix only uses the good stuff: their organic ingredients are produced without chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, artificial preservatives, added growth hormones or antibiotics. The various recipes are a perfect combo of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals with omega 3 fatty acids. This means that even though Buddha normally does not tolerate kibble very well, he thrives off of his current bag of grain-free Salmon and Peas recipe. We plan on rotating his diet with their Kibble + Raw and Organic Free-Range Turkey meals.
Additional perks of the Salon and Peas recipe is that it is made in the USA with North and South American salmon as it's #1 ingredient. Hooray for Buddha's skin fur. This recipe is cooked at an organically certified kitchen, and hand crafted in small batches to ensure quality and safety. And most importantly for Buddha's usual kibble reactions, no grains, no corn, no soy, and no wheat!
An unexpected bonus - our Chihuahua, Kitty - absolutely loves Organix. If any of you have Chihuahuas, you'll know them to be extremely fickle eaters. She refuses to touch any kibble and most wet foods but to my astonishment, our picky princess tried to eat Buddha's Organix! I poured a little portion for her and she devoured it with her tiny teeth. Then she had seconds. Now they both regularly eat their Salmon and Peas for breakfast and dinner and always lick their bowls clean. Success!
